The WOOP method, which stands for Wish, Outcome, Obstacle, Plan, helps you pave the way to making your dreams a reality. One of the best things about it is that it forces you to contingency plan and prepare for your obstacles. The Practice was developed by a famous psychology Professor Gabriele Oettingen and the way of using it is simple:
WISH: What do you want to create in your life
OUTCOME: Whats the best-case scenario of achieving that
OBSTACLES: What will get in your way?
PLANS: What will you do about those obstacles when they arise
